Paladins Sweep Furman Cross Country Classic
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman cross country teams swept the team titles at the fifth annual Furman Cross Country Classic Saturday morning in Greenville, S.C., defeating 17 teams.
The Furman women took five of the top six spots, winning the meet with 18 points. Clemson was second with 38 points, while Lee completed the top three at 33 points.
Senior Allie Buchalski returned from a redshirt year to win the individual title with a time of 20:30.42 on the 6K course. Sophomore Gabrielle Jennings placed second with a time of 20:42.39, wile sophomore Grace Dwyer was fourth after crossing the line in 20:59.38. Rookie Kristlin Gear and sophomore Emma Grace Hurley finished back-to-back in fifth and sixth place, respectively, to round out the Paladin scorers. UNCG Competes at Campbell Duals
LILLINGTON, N.C. – Following a quick turn of events with the Coastal Carolina University Invitational canceled due to Hurricane Irma, UNCG produced a quality showing in the Campbell Duals on Friday at the 4.2 kilometer course at the Keith Hills Golf Course.
Though the Spartans lost to the host Fightin’ Camels, the Blue and Gold earned a victory over UNCW with all five of UNCG’s scored runners finishing in the top-seven. Read More
VMI Men Finish Second, Women Third at JMU
NEW MARKET, Va. - Jahanzib Shahbaz finished fourth in the men's race, while Bethany King was 12th among the women to lead the VMI cross country teams at the JMU Open, contested Saturday morning in New Market, Va.
Shabaz led the way for VMI, serving as the Keydets' #1 runner for the first time in his career by timing in at 26:18 over the course, which measured just under 8K. Davone Hernandez finished ninth (26:35) and Justin Adams was 11th (26:43) as VMI's top three runners were all either freshmen or sophomores. Read More
