Furman Men Fifth, Women Sixth at Wisconsin Invitational

MADISON, Wis. -- Senior Allie Buchalski finished sixth to lead the Furman cross country teams Friday at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour at the Zimmer Championships Course in Madison, Wis.  The 10th-ranked Furman men placed fifth in the team competition, and the 21st-ranked Paladin women finished sixth.  

Buchalski paced the Paladins with a time of 19:49.1 to take sixth place on the 6K course.  Sophomores Savannah Carnahan finished 32nd with a time of 20:25.7, followed by fellow sophomore Gabrielle Jennings in 33rd at 20:26.4.  Sophomore Emma Grace Hurley placed 86th with a time of 21:05.6, and rookie Kristlin Gear complete the Paladin slate of scorers in 100th place with a time of 21:17.5.  Sophomore Grace Dwyer turned in a time of 21:24.9 for 112th place, and sophomore Riley Burr was 130th at 21:32.3. Bucs Finish in Top-3 at HPU Vertcross

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. – Paced by top-five finishes from a pair of freshmen, each of ETSU’s cross country teams produced a solid showing on Friday in the HPU Vertcross Invitational in Kernersville, N.C.

The men’s team was a close 2nd out of 17 teams, and the women 3rd in a competitive 16-team field, on the looped two-kilometer course at the Ivey M. Redmon Sports Complex, hosted by High Point University. Read More

Wofford's Steelman Claims Individual Title at HPU Vertcross

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Wofford College men's and women's cross country teams competed on Friday afternoon at the High Point VertCross Invitational. In the final race of the regular season, Hannah Steelman won the individual title for the women. Overall the Terriers finished fifth in the women's race and twelfth in the men's competition. UNCG Competes at Pirate Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. – UNCG cross country took the course Friday afternoon at the East Carolina Cross Country Pirate Invitational at Lake Kristi. Seven runners competed for UNCG on the men’s side, led byWilliam Sandin’s (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) 23rd place finish. The women also sent runners to Greenville, with Ariana Garcia (Beulaville, N.C./East Duplin) also finishing 23rd. The men finished in eighth place, with the women coming in fourth. Read More

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Western Carolina men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their regular season Friday night at the Queen City Invitational in Charlotte, N.C. The women finished third out of a field of 13 teams while the men took seventh in a 12-team affair. Read More

Bulldogs Shine at Crimson Classic

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - - The Samford men's and women's cross country squads competed in the Crimson Classic hosted by the University of Alabama on Friday. The men competed over a distance of 8,000 meters while the women competed over 6,000 meters.  With this being the last competition for the Bulldogs leading up to the conference meet in a couple of weeks, Samford head coach Pat McGregor expected his squad to compete and to compete well. The Classic was held at the Harry Pritchett Running Park, which will also serve as the location of the 2017 NCAA South Regional meet giving the Samford athletes the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the course. Freshmen Set School Records at Pirate Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The Citadel's men's and women's cross country teams competed in the ECU Pirate Invitational on Friday, Oct. 13.
 
Freshman Amber Opp broke The Citadel women's 6,000-meter record with a time of 22 minutes, 48.77 seconds, a personal best for the Morgantown, N.C., native. Opp placed 19th overall and was the first Bulldog to cross the finish line for her fourth consecutive race. Read More

Mercer Concludes Regular Season at Berry Invitational

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Mercer women's and men's cross country teams wrapped up their regular season at the Berry Invitational, hosted by Berry College, in a final tune-up before the Southern Conference Championships.
 
Mercer's seven women completed the 6K race with a total time of 2:22:58.74. The Bears were the only NCAA Division I women's team to compete in the event; their total time ranked 14th out of the field of 23 teams that completed across all levels. Read More
