VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. – The Samford men's golf team competed against some of the top teams in the country at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate, Monday and Tuesday at Old Overton Club (Par 70, 7,204 yards).

The Bulldogs finished 12th in the event, with a three-round score of 884 (295-291-298). The host school, Alabama, won the tournament with a final score of 821 (271-273-277), while Auburn came in second at 827 (282-278-267). Baylor came in third with a three-round total of 828 (269-277-282).

Individually, Samford was led by Alec Stopperich, placing 15th with a score of 209 (69-71-69).

Samford will return to action on Oct. 16-17 when the Bulldogs compete in the Austin Peay Invitational in Nashville, Tenn.
