CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Winter weather throughout Western North Carolina and the Upstate of South Carolina has forced the postponement of Friday night's scheduled men's basketball game between Western Carolina and Southern Wesleyan inside the Ramsey Center. With the cancellation, the Catamounts and Warriors are working on rescheduling the contest for late January. An official makeup date will be announced on once all details are finalized.

Friday's game – which was slated to be the final non-Division I game of the year for WCU – was set to be the third all-time meeting between the two schools on the men's basketball hardwood.

With the postponement of Friday night's contest, the Western Carolina men's basketball team will take a week off for exams before turning its focus to UNC Asheville, who the Catamounts meet in the Asheville Mountain Classic on Sunday, Dec. 17, inside the U.S. Cellular Center.
