VMI's Hohman named Wrestler of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – VMI junior Blake Hohman has been named the Southern Conference wrestler of the week for all competition from Jan. 3-9, the league office announced Wednesday.

Hohman, a native of New Kent, Virginia, went 4-1 in the 165-pound division at the Franklin and Marshall Open over the weekend. Hohman began the Open with a pair of pin falls before scoring a 7-3 decision over Maryland’s Idris White. After falling to Brown’s Bryce Rogers, Hohman ended the day with a 6-3 decision over Phillip Spadaform of Maryland. 

Hohman, who scored the first two pins of his career on Saturday, leads VMI in wins this season with nine.
