SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford women's tennis team defeated North Greenville 7-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Reeves Tennis Center. With the win, the Terriers move to 7-1 while the Crusaders move to 1-4.
"I am proud of the way we took care of business today," said head coach Krissy Hall. "We will use these matches to help us improve as we inch closer towards the conference season."
The Terriers got the day started by securing the team point from the doubles competition. Wofford's lineup for the doubles matches were as followed: #1 Cassidy Hicks/Jenna Vroman, #2 Lauren Reid/Samantha Russell and #3 Curran Carver/Brittney Wilbur. The Crusaders forfeited the third doubles match and then Hicks/Vroman and Reid/Russell defeated their respective opponents 6-1 to secure the point.
Wofford's strong play continued to the singles matches as the Terriers swept North Greenville, 6-0. The lineup for the singles matches were as followed: #1 Hicks, #2 Vroman, #3 Reid, #4 Carver, #5 Brooke Graham, #6 Wilbur. After the Crusaders forfeited the #6 match, Graham came up with her first victory of the season, 6-0, 6-1. Carver then sealed the deal for the Terriers with a 6-1, 6-0 win. With the match in hand, the Terriers went on to sweep the final three matches of the day to secure the 7-0 win.
Wofford will return to the court on February 24th when the Terriers host Kennesaw State in a men's (11 AM) and women's (2PM) doubleheader.

Wofford began the day by clinching the team point from the doubles competition. The Terriers lineup for the doubles matches were as followed: #1 Julian Chousa/John Crawford, #2 Jack Thomas/Lucas Cerbelli, #3 Javi Casasolas/Omar Williams. Casasolas/Williams got things started with a 6-1 victory and Chousa/Crawford clinched the point with another 6-1 win.
In the singles matches, the Terriers remained tough and outlasted the Crusaders in all six matches. The lineup for the singles matches were as followed: #1 Cerbelli, #2 Chousa, #3 Edu Villar, #4 Parks Schoen, #5 Kyle Barr and #6 Casasolas. After a 6-2, 6-2 victory from Casasolas, Cerbelli defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-1 to give Wofford the 3-0 lead. Kyle Barrthen won 6-2, 6-1 to clinch the match for the Terriers. With the match in hand, Wofford went on to win the final three matches to secure the 7-0 win.
Wofford will return to the court on Saturday, when the Terriers host Kennesaw State in a men's (11 AM) and women's (2PM) doubleheader.
