GREENVILLE, S.C. – A nine-goal run to open the game put it away early, and Furman downed Presbyterian, 19-3, on a cold, rainy night inside Paladin Stadium. The win, Furman's first of the year, moves the Paladins to 1-2 on the year, while the loss drops the Blue Hose to 0-4.

Furman was led by Grace Pollak with four goals, while Hannah Feinberg added three goals and an assist. Ten Paladins registered in the scoring column, while six players turned in an assist. Courtney Baker picked up her first win of the year in goal, while Furman won 18 draws to PC's five.

Five different Paladins scored in the first five minutes of the game to open a 5-0 lead, before  Abby Shields and Grace Pollak each picked up their second goal of the day to take a 7-0 lead just over six minutes in. The Paladins then used back-to-back goals to push the lead to 9-0 at the 19:43 mark, before the Blue Hose got on the board at the 15:29 mark of the first half. Freshman Lauren Farber picked up her first-career goal to push the lead to 10-1, before Pollak completed the first half hat trick with 5:36 remaining. Both teams were kept off the board for the remaining 5:30, until Isabelle Walsh netted her first goal of the year with :07 to go in the half, giving the Paladins the 12-1 halftime lead.

Furman opened the second half with three-straight goals to take a 15-1 lead, before PC ended the Paladin run and cut the lead to 15-2 with 15:59 remaining. After Leah Nonnenmann gave Furman the 16-2 lead, a storm rolled into the area, forcing a 45-minute lightning delay. After the delay, the Paladins used back-to-back goals to push the lead to 18-2, before PC's Natalie Barnett picked up her second goal of the day to cut the lead to 18-3 with 3:48 to go. Bailey Wilson closed out the scoring for the Paladins, picking up her first-career goal with just under 1:00 to play, giving Furman the 19-3 victory.

Furman is back in action on Sunday, hosting Vanderbilt at 12:00 p.m. in Paladin Stadium.
