UNCG falls to High Point in Labor Day action

HIGH POINT, N.C. – UNC Greensboro women’s soccer (0-3-1) fell 2-1 in overtime at High Point (1-3-0) Labor Day night at Vert Stadium. The Panthers’ Kyle Levesque scored the golden goal right before the horn at the 100th minute off a free kick from a few yards outside the left side of the box.

Nicole Souply scored the Spartans’ lone goal in the 53rd minute, her second of the season. Souply headed the ball in a yard out from a rebound off a shot by Maddy Gilhoolfrom near the right corner.

Chloe Le Franc recorded the game’s first goal in the 13th minute off a pass from Alex Palmer.

Three Things To Know
-- Aiyanah Tyler-Cooper made two saves. Abby Buchholz replaced her in the 61st minute and recorded a save.

-- UNCG had the edge in corner kicks (8-4) and shots (22-11).

-- Cienna Rideout had a game-high six saves with one on goal, and Gabi Santora also had five with two on goal.

The Spartans returns home to face Iowa Sunday at 1 p.m.
