STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Led by seniors Vanessa Koechli and Katharina Boehm and freshman Julia Neumann, who each finished the day in the top 10 individually, the College of Charleston women’s golf team is tied for fourth place after Friday’s opening round of the Nittany Lion Women’s Invitational.

The Cougars were one of three teams that shot a 16-over 304 team score in the first round. Host Penn State leads the tournament after an opening-round of 292 (+4), while Old Dominion (+8) is in second place and Harvard (+15) is third on the team leaderboard.

Koechli, Boehm and Neumann each carded rounds of 2-over 74 and are tied for 10th place on the individual leaderboard. Freshman Louise Olsson was the next best for the Cougars with a 10-over 82 and senior Anna Martin and freshman Stacey Tomlinson each shot 11-over rounds of 83.

The tournament resumes Saturday, with Martin teeing off first for the Cougars at 9:18 a.m.
