HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - Furman extended its lead on day two of the SoCon Women's Golf Championship, shooting a 14-over-par 302 to take a two-stroke lead into Tuesday's final round at Moss Creek Golf Club. Chattanooga's Monica San Juan, who was tied for first after day one with Hee Ying Loy of ETSU and Haylee Harford of Furman, posted a 2-under-par 70 Monday to take sole possession of first place overall.

Despite windy conditions, San Juan shot a 2-under-par 70 to earn her sole possession of first heading into Tuesday's final round. She currently holds a four-stroke lead over Furman's Natalie Srinivasan. San Juan is joined in the top 10 individual rankings by teammate Kirsty Beckwith, who shot an even-par 70 Monday, bringing her total to 151, enough to be apart of a five-way tie for eighth.

Led by San Juan, Chattanooga jumped into second place, overtaking Mercer, which came into Monday's second round two strokes behind Furman. The Mocs shot 300 to claim second, while Mercer shot a 305 to slide into third. ETSU (303), UNCG (308), Samford (313) and Wofford (317) finished the day in the same order they finished at the end of the first round: fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively. Western Carolina shot a 341 to take over eighth, up one spot from Sunday. The Citadel (341) finished day two in ninth.

As a team, the Paladins have three golfers in the the top 10 heading into Tuesday's final round. They are led by Natalie Srinivasan, who shot 2-over-par 74 to claim sole possession of second place. Harford, who was tied for first after the end of day one with San Juan and Loy, dropped down to a tie for third with Samford's Emily Uhland after shooting 2-over-par 74.

Mercer's Karina Kukkonen, who entered Monday in a tie for ninth, has now moved into a tie for third with Furman's Harford. Both Samford top-10 golfers stand in a tie for fifth with ETSU's Loy. Kukkonen is joined in the top 10 at the end of day two by teammate Lauren Lightfritz, who is currently in a five-way tie for eighth.

Rounding out the top 10 at the end of the day is a five way tie for eighth, with each athlete being from a different school. ETSU's Warda Amria, UNCG's Alexis Kershaw, Chattanooga's Beckwith, Furman's Madison Moosa and Mercer's Lightfritz each ended day two 7-over-par.

The final round will begin at the Moss Creek Golf Club on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina at 8 a.m. Tuesday. Live stats can be found on Golfstat and will be updated throughout the final round. The winner of the SoCon Championship will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals.
