GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman's Sept. 10 football game at The Citadel and Sept. 24 home contest versus Presbyterian will be televised, according to Chuck Hussion, athletic marketing/general manager for IMG College.
The Paladins' clash against the Bulldogs, set for 6:00 p.m. at The Citadel's Johnson Hagood Stadium, will be carried over WMYA 40 in Greenville. Furman's matchup against Presbyterian, a 1:00 p.m. kickoff at Paladin Stadium, will be televised over the Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) Network.
Chuck Hussion will deliver the play-by-play, Corey Stewart color commentary, and David Cobb sideline reports for both games.
The Furman-Citadel contest will mark the 91st clash between the Paladins and Bulldogs in the oldest active Southern Conference football rivalry. Furman, which claimed a 31-14 win last year in Greenville, sports a 56-31-3 series advantage over The Citadel.
The Paladins and Blue Hose have been football foes since 1913, having squared off 52 times over the years. Furman holds a commanding 40-11-1 series lead and sports a current 12-game series winning streak, including a 45-21 decision registered in 2009.
Furman, which returns 16 starters, kicks off its 2011 season on Sept. 3 with a 6:00 p.m. road contest against Coastal Carolina.
Furman football is under the direction of first year head coach Bruce Fowler, who took over the program on Dec. 13 following nine seasons as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt.
