SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Southern Conference named its football players of the week today for the games played Saturday, October 15. Furman's Jerodis Williams was named Offensive Player of the Week while Chattanooga's Wes Dothard earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. Chattanooga's Terrell Robinson was selected as the Freshman of the Week for the third consecutive week, and Appalachian State's Travaris Cadet was tabbed as the Special Teams Player of the Week. The players of the week are selected by the league office.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jerodis Williams, Furman, Jr., RB, Prattville, Ala.
Williams rushed for 155 yards on 22 carries as Furman knocked off fourth-ranked Wofford, 26-21. Williams turned in a 40-yard run on the Paladins' opening possession and later converted from four yards out to give Furman an early 7-0 lead. Midway through the second quarter the junior running back dove in from one yard out for his second TD of the day, which gave the Paladins the lead for good. Williams averaged 7.0 yards per carry on the day.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Wes Dothard, Chattanooga, So., LB, Carrolton, Ga.
Wes Dothard set a new career high with a game-high 15 tackles as Chattanooga topped Elon, 42-18. The sophomore recorded nine solo stops and added 2.5 tackles for loss. Dothard forced his fourth fumble of the season which is tied for third place nationally. The Carrolton, Ga., native is 16th in FCS with 13.5 tackles for loss this year and ranks sixth in the SoCon with 9.2 stops per game.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: Terrell Robinson, Chattanooga, Fr., QB, South Pittsburg, Tenn.
Making just his second career start, Robinson helped the Mocs earn their first win over Elon in five years. The freshman signal caller ran for a game-high 115 yards on 14 carries. He also completed 11 of 13 passes for 140 yards and 3 TDs. Robinson became the first Moc with 100 yards rushing and passing since Tony Meredino in 1978. After Elon cut the UTC lead to 28-18 in the fourth quarter, Robinson took the first play from scrimmage and rushed 41 yards. Two plays later the Mocs scored on a Marquis Green run to push their lead to 35-18.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Travaris Cadet, Appalachian State, Sr., RB/KR, Miami, Fla.
Travaris Cadet totaled 258 all-purpose yards as Appalachian State beat Samford, 35-17. Cadet returned three kickoffs for 79 yards and was a factor returning punts as well. Early in the third quarter, the senior returned a punt 37 yards to the Bulldogs' 44-yard line which set up a Jamal Jackson touchdown pass to extend ASU's lead to 28-10. Cadet added 139 yards and 2 TDs on the ground in Appalachian State's win.
