SPARTANBURG, S.C. - College of Charleston's Antwaine Wiggins has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for all games played November 15-21 the league office announced Tuesday (Nov. 22).  Wiggins averaged 19.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists as CofC earned wins over Morehead State (72-57) and at Clemson (72-69).

The Greeneville, Tenn., native scored 17 points and grabbed five rebounds as the Cougars knocked off Morehead State last Tuesday morning as part of ESPN's 24-Hours of College Basketball Tip-Off Marathon.  The senior scored a game-high 22 points on the strength of four three-pointers at Clemson.  Wiggins added seven rebounds in 37 minutes of action against the Tigers as the Cougars knocked off their second 2011 NCAA tournament participant in as many games.

Wiggins needs just 131 points to reach the 1,000-point plateau.  He would become just the 29th player in school history to top the 1,000-point mark.

The Cougars are 3-0 for the first time since the 2002-03 season.

Other top performers in the Southern Conference included Appalachian State's Jamaal Trice, The Citadel's Mike Groselle, Davidson's De'Mon Brooks, Elon's Lucas Troutman, Georgia Southern's Eric Fergusson, Samford's Jeffrey Merritt, Western Carolina's Harouna Mutombo and Wofford's Karl Cochran.
