SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Southern Conference announced the second of two Wild Card selections for the league's football broadcast package. The Nov. 17 game between The Citadel and Furman will be added to the league's broadcast schedule and will be available on ESPN3. The game is scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff at Paladin Stadium in Greenville, S.C.
The Nov. 17 matchup will be the 92nd meeting between the Bulldogs and Paladins, making it the longest-running rivalry in the Southern Conference. The two teams first met in 1913 and have met every year dating back to 1946. Furman holds a 57-31-3 edge in the all-time series between the two schools.
The Citadel is currently 4-4 (3-3 SoCon) and will play host to Elon (3-5, 1-4 SoCon) this Saturday. The Bulldogs and Phoenix will kickoff at 2:00 p.m.
Furman (3-6, 2-4 SoCon) is idle this weekend and will travel to Appalachian State on Nov. 10 for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff at Kidd Brewer Stadium.
