MACON, Ga. – Former Mercer Bear Greg Ranjitsingh has been signed by the Louisville City FC, as announced by the organization on March 26.
Ranjitsingh played in one preseason game with Louisville and recorded a clean slate in a 5-0 win over Lindsey-Wilson.
“We invited Greg to come on-loan to us a few weeks ago,” Louisville head coach James O’Connor said. “During his time with us, he proved that he has the skills to be a quality goalkeeper. Obviously, we are excited to have gotten Greg here and thrilled to have him here in Louisville.”
In 2014, Ranjitsingh was named the SoCon Goalkeeper of the Year and All-Southern Conference and led the conference in save percentage (.841) and total saves (106), while ranking No. 3 nationally in total saves and No. 9 in save percentage.
During his four years at Mercer, Ranjitsingh played in 81 games and recorded 363 saves and 27 shutouts, while allowing just 95 goals. He ended his career at Mercer with a .793 save percentage and a 1.14 goals-against average. In addition to holding several single-season records, Ranjitsingh is the career leader in GAA and shutouts, while ranking third in total saves.
Louisville City FC is a professional soccer team founded in 2014 and began its first season in the USL in March 2015. The United Soccer League was founded in 2010 and has expanded to 24 teams for the 2015 season. Louisville City FC will play all home matches at Louisville Slugger Field in downtown Louisville, Ky.
