Bradtmueller, Link Named SoCon Runners of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU’s Adam Bradtmueller and UNCG’s Katy Link have been named Southern Conference men’s and women’s runners of the week, respectively, for competition held Sept. 16-17, the league office announced Wednesday.

Bradtmueller finished 24th at the Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational in Blacksburg, Va., on Friday. The true freshman crossed the finish line in 25:44.60 on the men’s 8K course. The Sarasota, Fla., native led the Bucs to a fourth-place team finish among Virginia Tech, Liberty, Ohio, Akron, VMI, Lynchburg, Radford and Longwood.

Link was the first Spartan to cross the finish line at the Adidas Cross Country Challenge in Cary, N.C., on Friday. The redshirt senior finished the 5,000-meter course in 17:59.7 to place 21st overall and lead UNCG to a 10th-place team finish. Link’s time of 17.59.7 is currently fourth-best among SoCon runners this season on a 5K course.
