No. 2 seed Mercer played to a scoreless draw with No. 1 seed ETSU and won the ensuing penalty-kick shootout 4-1 as the Bears claimed their first SoCon Championship title in 2016. Keeper Jeremy Booth was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player after posting a pair of shutouts and stopping a kick in the PK phase of the title match.
