SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNCG midfielder Leeroy Maguraushe has been named the Southern Conference men’s soccer player of the week for all competition from Sept. 11-17 after scoring the game-winning goal and adding an assist in a 2-0 win over UNC Asheville on Saturday.
Maguraushe, a junior from Milton Keynes, England, found the back of the net in the 33rd minute, making the score 1-0 Spartans. In the 63rd minute, Maguraushe set up teammate Matt Mattis for an insurance goal.
UNCG has a pair of games this week before turning to conference play. The Spartans travel to Campbell on Wednesday before hosting Appalachian State on Saturday.
