SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga women’s golfer Megan Woods has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for competition held Feb. 28 to March 6, the league office announced Wednesday.
A senior from Spring Branch, Texas, Woods finished the North Florida Collegiate tied for sixth, averaging a score of 72.3 over three days of competition. Woods opened up the week with a 74 but would turn in a second-round score of 70 to vault her up the leaderboards. Woods would cap off the tournament with a 73, finishing tied for sixth overall.
In a field of 17 teams, Woods’ efforts helped lift the Mocs to a second-place finish. Chattanooga next competes in the Hawkeye El-Tigre Invitational on March 16.
Woods is an accounting major with a 4.0 grade point average.
