JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Recent ETSU graduate and Johnson City great Tianna Tarter has signed a professional contract to play in Romania for team Olimpia Brasov. She leaves September 1 to begin her new journey.

“I’m blessed to be able to have the opportunity to still conquer my dreams!” said Tarter. “I signed my first official contract to go pursue my dreams to play professional basketball in Brasov, Romania. I can’t help but to thank God, my family, and my ETSU family for helping me through this journey. Now it’s time for the real work to start.”
Tarter has left her mark on the ETSU women’s basketball program. Throughout her four years, she set the Bucs’ free throw record, finishing with 446 free throws, while finishing second in ETSU program history in field goals attempted (1,552), assists (492), and steals (260). She also was just short of 2,000 career points, finishing her career with 1,932 points.
The Johnson City native, was a three-time SoCon First Team selection and earned many accolades throughout her senior year, such as being named a Senior CLASS Award candidate, named to the Nancy Lieberman Watch List, and the Citizen Naismith Trophy Watch List.
“Tianna is about to embark on a life changing journey,” shared head coach Brittney Ezell. “Not only will she be a professional basketball player, but to be able to travel and experience the world. She has worked extremely hard to be rewarded with such an incredible opportunity and I believe that she is in a position to better her life for years to come through the game that she loves.
