SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNCG forward Nicole Souply has been named the Southern Conference women’s soccer player of the week for all competition Sept. 3-9.
UNCG went 2-0 on the week as the Spartans defeated High Point 4-0 at home and picked up a 2-1 win at Davidson. Souply, a freshman, scored the game-winner in each game. The native of Puyallup, Washington netted her first collegiate goal to put the Spartans on the board against the Panthers. Four days later, she delivered the game-winner that broke a 1-1 tie in the second half at Davidson.
UNCG hosts No. 17 NC State on Wednesday, Sept. 12 and plays at VCU on Sunday, Sept. 16.
Also nominated: Logan Dix (The Citadel), Caroline Smith (Mercer), Korrie Sauder (Samford), Hollie Massey (Chattanooga) and Blake Cashin (VMI).
