SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU’s Mladen Armus has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all competition from Jan. 2 -Jan. 8.
The sophomore had a game-high and career-high 17 rebounds (six offensive and 7 defensive) in the Bucs overtime win against Samford on Thursday, while also scoring 11 points for his third career double-double. In the Bucs win against Chattanooga on Saturday, Armus pulled down 10 rebounds while netting eight points for a near double-double. Over the two games he averaged 13.5 rebounds, 9.5 points per game and finished the week with four assists, three blocks and three steals.
The Belgrade, Serbia, native currently holds a 3.371 grade point average in computing.
ETSU continues nonconference play on Thursday when they will travel to Charleston to take on The Citadel and then to Macon to play Mercer.
Also nominated for SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week: Ethan Stair (Mercer men’s basketball), and Storm Murphy (Wofford men’s basketball).
