Delaware State falls to Stetson

Dover, Del. -- Saige-Lyn Gidzinski had four goals and Jaclynn Levy came off the bench to add three to lead Stetson to a 21-1 women’s lacrosse victory over Delaware State at Alumni Stadium this afternoon.

A total of 10 players scored goals for the Hatters.

Gidzinski also had two assists to total six points for the game, while Levy assisted on three goals for six points.

Stetson’s Riley Reagan tallied a goal and five helpers to tie for game-high honors with six points.

Olivia Summerville scored Delaware State’s lone goal at the 19:44 mark of the first period to cut the Hatters’ lead to 3-1. Summerville leads the Hornets with 12 goals and 14 points this season.

Stetson scored the last 10 goals of the period to lead 13-1 at the break.

DSU was outscored 8-0 in the second period. The Hatters outshot the Hornets 31-7 in the game.

Delaware State will close out its 2019 season with three road games, beginning with an April 18 contest at Furman.
