SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Seven Southern Conference student-athletes will compete at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which take place Wednesday through Saturday in Austin, Texas.
Furman sends a contingent of five runners to the national meet. The Paladins’ Ryan Adams, Krissy Gear, Gabbi Jennings, Frank Lara and Aaron Templeton will be joined by Samford’s Karisa Nelson, who won an indoor NCAA title in the mile in 2017, and Wofford’s Hannah Steelman.
Furman’s Templeton and Wofford’s Steelman will both pull double duty after qualifying in two events each. Templeton will compete in the 10,000-meter final on Wednesday and the 5,000-meter final on Friday. Steelman will run in the 3,000-meter steeplechase semifinals on Thursday and the 5,000 meters on Saturday.
