SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford women’s basketball center Natalie Armstrong has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all competition from Nov. 27 to Dec. 3. The selection is made by the league office.
Armstrong was strong in three games last week, leading the Bulldogs to wins over Alabama State and North Alabama. The Norcross, Georgia, native averaged 19.3 points and eight rebounds per game. Her best performance came in the win at North Alabama on Nov. 27 when she put up 24 points and 14 rebounds. Armstrong followed that performance with 12 points against Alabama State and 22 points and nine rebounds in a narrow loss to UAB.
Armstrong is a health sciences major and currently holds a 3.46 grade point average.
The Bulldogs will return to the court on Dec. 8 when they travel to face Kentucky at 2 p.m.
