Western Carolina’s Greg Holland was named Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 23.

 

Holland earned three wins last week in four appearances. The native of Marion, N.C. tossed one scoreless inning in a 7-3 win over East Tennessee State on April 18. He picked up wins in all three games against Elon. He tossed two perfect innings of relief in a 4-2 win over the Phoenix on April 20. The junior was the pitcher of record allowing a hit with a strikeout in two-thirds of an inning. On April 22 he allowed three hits in two innings and a run. For the week, the right-hander pitched 5.2 innings, allowing five hits and three walks while striking on four.

 

Other standout pitching performances last week were turned in by:  Nick Chigges (College of Charleston), Matt Andress (Appalachian State), Ryan Falcon (UNC Greensboro), Kyle Kamppi (Georgia Southern), Jamie Maxwell (The Citadel).
