SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
The 2008 Southern Conference Men’s & Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27 at the at the Catamount Athletics Complex in Cullowhee, NC. Western Carolina University will be the host institution for the event.
ADMISSION FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP
Admission for the championship will be $5 for adults, $3 for youth and students with a valid ID from a Conference school.

Review of 2007 SoCon Outdoor Track & Field Championships
The Outdoor Track and Field championship for the men started in 1923 with Mississippi State winning in the inaugural year. since then, Since then, 16 different schools have won the championship, including four current members. Appalachian State holds 16 titles, the most in history. Since 1978, only three schools have won the meet: VMI (11), Appalachian State (16) and Western Carolina (3).
On the women's side, the first meet was held in 1987 with Appalachian State winning nine straight before East Tennessee State won its first title in 1996. Only four schools have won the meet: Appalachian State (15), Western Carolina (4), Georgia Southern (1) and East Tennessee State (1).
