BOSTON – Furman guard Devin Sibley and Wofford guard Fletcher Magee were among the 40 student-athletes on the Lou Henson Award midseason watch list, CollegeInsider.com, which administers the award, announced Thursday.

The Lou Henson Award is presented annually to the nation's top Division I mid-major player.

Sibley, the reigning Southern Conference Player of the Year and the preseason SoCon Player of the Year heading into this season, is fourth in the league in scoring at 15.6 points per game and has notched eight 20-point games this season, second-most in the league behind only Magee. He has helped Furman to a 12-4 start to the season and a No. 6 national ranking in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25.

Magee is second nationally in total 3-point field goals made (72), 3-point field goals made per game (4.5), and free-throw percentage (97.9 percentage). He has scored in double digits in 61 straight games. Magee leads the Southern Conference in points per game (23.0), 3-point field goals per game and free-throw percentage. He is second in the conference in 3-point field-goal percentage (52.2 percentage), third in minutes played (32.2) and sixth in field-goal percentage (53.9 percentage).

Sibley and Magee, as well as Mercer guard Ria’n Holland and Samford center Wyatt Walker, were among the 51 members of the preseason watch list nationwide.

Lou Henson coached 41 years. When he left the game in 2005 he was sixth all-time in career Division I wins with 779. He is the winningest coach at both Illinois and New Mexico State. He is one of only 12 coaches in the history of the game to take two schools to the Final Four.

The 2017-18 Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award will be announced on March 31, 2018, at the CollegeInsider.com Awards Event in San Antonio, Texas, site of the men's NCAA Final Four.
