GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman's Natalie Srinivasan is rated ninth and Haylee Harford is ranked 23rd in the first spring Arnold Palmer Cup Ranking for the 2018 event at Evian Resort Golf Club, which was released Thursday.  Srinivasan moved up three spots from her 12th-place ranking in the fall, while Harford cracked the top 25 for the first time this season.

Srinivasan, a sophomore from Spartanburg, S.C., posted a score of .9930 out of 1.000 in the ranking after recording a 71.5 stroke average over 11 rounds last fall, tops on the Paladin team.  She notched three top-four finishes in four tournaments during the fall season, including tying for third at the prestigious ANNIKA Intercollegiate to kick off October's competition.  Srinivasan placed fourth at the Betsy Rawls Invitational the following week and concluded the fall season by tying for third at the Landfall Tradition.  The 2017 SoCon Freshman of the Year, she scored below par in seven rounds this fall and is ranked 16th nationally in the latest Golfstat player rankings.

Harford, a junior from Leavittsburg, Ohio, scored .9630 out of 1.00 in this ranking.  She ranked second for Furman with a 72.3 stroke average over 11 rounds during the fall and finished in the top-five at two of four tournaments.  Harford led the Paladins with a second-place finish at the Lady Paladin Invitational and finished third to lead Furman at the Betsy Rawls Invitational.

"We are all very proud of Natalie and Haylee for their play and look forward to more of the same as we kick off the spring season," said Furman head coach Jeff Hull.  "To even be considered to represent the U.S. on the inaugural Women's Palmer Cup team is quite an honor."

The top six golfers from the final Arnold Palmer Cup Ranking in the spring from both the United States and International men and women - 12 total golfers - will be among the 24 individuals selected to compete in the Arnold Palmer Cup, which will be held July 6-8.  The 2018 event will be the first using the expanded format of United States men's and women's collegiate golfers versus their counterparts from around the world.

Using Golfstat's NCAA player ranking as a base, the Arnold Palmer Cup Ranking awards bonus points for wins and high finishes and a penalty for poor finishes.  The ranking also contains a strength of schedule component.

The remaining six men's and women's spots for the United States will consist of five committee selections, including at least one non-Division I golfer, and a coaches pick. The balance of the International team will include the men's and women's winners of The R&A Scholars Tournament, four committee selections and a coaches pick.

Subsequent rankings will be released on February 22 and March 8 with teams being announced March 15 during the first round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard.
