GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG men’s golf team sits in sixth place after 36 holes of the UNCG Grandover Collegiate on Saturday with a 27-over par 603 score at the Grandover Resort East Course. The third and final round will be play Sunday with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start. UNCG will tee off from holes Nos. 4-6. Live scoring will be available at www.golfstatresults.com.

The Spartans posted rounds of 299-304 Saturday in the first two rounds. No. 24 North Carolina holds the overall lead at 6-over-par 582 (297-285), while No. 28 Duke is second at 10-over-par 586 (288-298) and No. 56 Northwestern is third at 11-over-par 587 (296-291). Dylan Wu of Northwestern holds the individual lead at 5-under-par 139 with rounds of 69-70, while only four players were under par on the day.

Senior Josh Stockwell leads the Spartans after day one in 11th place overall with a 4-over-par 148. Stockwell opened the day with a 3-over-par 75 in round one before carding a 1-over-par 73 in round two. He recorded two birdies, three bogeys and 13 par scores in the second round. He finished the first 36 holes fifth in the field with 26 pars.

Junior Bryce Hendrix finished Saturday in 28th place overall with an 8-over-par 152. Hendrix opened with a 1-over-par 73 in round one when he posted 14 pars and had an eagle-3 on the par-5 hole No. 2. He followed that up with a 7-over-par 79 in round two.

Freshman Nick Lyerly and senior Joseph Cansler are tied for 39th place overall at 10-over-par 154. Lyerly opened with a 6-over-par 78 in round one before posting a 4-over-par 76 in round two. He ranks fifth in the field with 26 total pars in 36 holes. Cansler opened the day with a 1-over-par 73 in round one, recording four birdies, five bogeys and nine par scores. He followed that up with a 9-over 81 in round two.

Sophomore Jonathan Brightwell rounded out the lineup in 54th place overall with a 14-over 158. Brightwell posted an opening round of 10-over 82 before carding a 4-over 76 in round two. Sophomore Ben Buben led the Spartan individuals with a 11-over 155 score to place in a tie for 46th overall. Buben opened with a 10-over 82 in round one before coming back with a 1-over 73 in round two, highlighted by an eagle-3 on the par-5 hole No. 2.

Freshman Justin Emmons and Michael Wicker are tied for 61st overall at 17-over 161. Redshirt freshman Regan Erhardt turned in a 29-over 173 and finished in 75th place overall.

Joining the Spartans in the field includes No. 24 North Carolina, No. 28 Duke, No. 79 Virginia Tech, No. 73 Georgia State, Kansas State, VCU, No. 31 NC State, No. 56 Northwestern and Loyola (Md.).
