After starting as Wofford's designated hitter for the first 13 games of the season, Doyle moved to left field for Saturday's doubleheader against Harvard and responded with a power surge at the plate. The junior belted a pair of home runs in each game, including a grand slam in game two, to propel Wofford to a sweep of the doubleheader and of the four-game series. In total, Doyle had four home runs and 11 RBIs last week while slugging 1.000.
Beck started two games last week and helped set the tone against No. 1 Florida in his first start of the week. He struck out four Gators and allowed only one walk and one hit in 2.0 innings of work. The sophomore left in a 0-0 ball game before Andy Moye scored the deciding run in the fifth inning, as GSU defeated the top-ranked Gators, 7-0. Beck then struck out nine Furman batters and went seven innings, allowing one run on five hits in his win over the Paladins on Friday night. In his two outings, Beck finished with 13 punch outs, two walks allowed, one earned run and six hits in 9.0 total innings.
