SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Georgia Southern right fielder Victor Roache has been named the Southern Conference Baseball Player of the Week while Appalachian State pitcher Ryan Arrowood and The Citadel pitcher Logan Cribb have been selected as the league's Co-Pitchers of the Week for all games from April 11-17.

Roache continued his recent power tear, hitting five home runs in a week for the second time this season and homering in all five games last week. He hit an impressive .563 with one double, five home runs, 13 RBIs and a 1.563 slugging percentage. The sophomore also walked six times and did not commit an error in 14 chances as Georgia Southern split a pair of midweek games and won two-of-three at Western Carolina.

Arrowood tossed a four-hit shutout to defeat Samford, 4-0, on Friday. The junior did not surrender a base hit to 14-straight batters at one point early in the ballgame and retired the final eight hitters he faced to complete the gem. He struck out eight and walked only one while throwing 102 pitches. It was ASU's first complete-game shutout in nearly three years and just the third in the Southern Conference this season.

Cribb, a freshman left-hander, made his first career start against No. 3 South Carolina on Tuesday and hurled 8.0 scoreless innings and pitched into the ninth inning as The Citadel shutout the Gamecocks for the first time since 1971. Cribb scattered eight hits and walked three while striking out a career-high three batters. Before his start on Tuesday, the true freshman had never pitched more than 2.2 innings. He worked two more innings over the weekend, surrendering one earned run.

Other hitters receiving consideration were Appalachian State's Jeremy Dowdy, College of Charleston's Matt Leeds, The Citadel's Justin Mackert, Elon's Alex Swim, Furman's Paul Nitto, UNCG's Drew Gehringer, Samford's Brad Moss, Western Carolina's Ross Heffley and Wofford's Clark Wise.

Other top performers among pitchers were College of Charleston's Christian Powell, Davidson's Chris Lamb, Elon's Jared Kernodle, Georgia Southern's Matt Murray, UNCG's Colby Hyatt, Samford's Charles Basford, Western Carolina's Matt Benedict and Wofford's John Cornely.
