Men's Basketball Tournament Pairings Announced

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -  The Southern Conference has announced the pairings for the 2012 Men's Basketball Tournament, slated to begin Friday (March 2) in Asheville, N.C. 

Davidson and Wofford secured the top two seeds in the South Division and earned byes to Saturday's quarterfinals.  UNCG and Elon earned byes in the North Division and will wait to be matched up with their opponents following Friday's opening round.

The tourney will begin with College of Charleston taking on Appalachian State at 11:30 a.m. Friday morning.  That game will be followed by Western Carolina against The Citadel.  Friday's evening session begins when Samford squares off against Furman at 6:00 p.m.  Georgia Southern will take one Chattanooga in the final game of the first day.

Saturday's quarterfinals begin at noon and can be seen on ESPN3.  Sunday's semifinals start at 6:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on the SoCon Sports Network and will also be available through ESPN3.  Monday's championship game will tip-off at 9:00 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN2.

Game 1 - (4S) College of Charleston vs. (5N) Appalachian State, 11:30 a.m.
Game 2 - (3N) Western Carolina vs. (6S) The Citadel, 2:00 p.m.
Game 3 - (4N) Samford vs. (5S) Furman, 6:00 p.m.
Game 4 - (3S) Georgia Southern vs. (6N) Chattanooga, 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, March 3
(1N) UNCG vs. Game 1 winner, 12:00 p.m.
(2S) Wofford vs. Game 2 winner, 2:30 p.m.
(1S) Davidson vs. Game 3 winner, 6:00 p.m.
(2N) Elon vs. Game 4 winner, 8:30 p.m.

Sunday, March 4
Semifinal 1 - 6:00 p.m.
Semifinal 2 - 8:30 p.m.

Monday, March 5
Championship Game - 9:00 p.m.
