SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Bethany King of VMI women’s track and field has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for competition held Jan. 10-16, the league office announced Wednesday.
King, a senior from Chesterfield, Virginia, opened her season running a 5:11.31 mile. King, who was the second collegiate finisher and finished third overall in the event, will return to action Friday when VMI hosts the Keydet Invitational.
A biology major, King holds a 3.60 grade point average.
