SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU’s Lindsey Stallworth and Western Carolina’s Simone Williams have been named the Southern Conference women’s outdoor track and field athletes of the week, respectively, the conference office announced Thursday.

Selections were made by a panel of the league’s track and field coaches.

Stallworth finished fifth in the 1,500-meter run at the 49er Classic in Charlotte, North Carolina, over the weekend, turning in a personal-best time of 4:32.45. The sophomore from Knoxville, Tennessee, posted the top time in the conference so far this season by more than three seconds.

Williams finished 10th in the hammer throw at the 49er Classic on Friday with a toss of 46.60 meters (152 feet, 11 inches). The senior, who was throwing in her hometown of Charlotte, owns the best mark in the SoCon this season with that effort.
