SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Aaron Templeton and Savannah Carnahan have been named the Southern Conference men’s and women’s cross-country runners of the week for competition that took place Oct. 10-16.

Templeton, a Knoxville, Tennessee, native, finished fourth overall at the pre-NCAA Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin, on Saturday. His time of 23:50.99 in the men’s 8k event, helped to lead the Paladins to a eight-place overall finish. This is the senior’s second time being honored as the men’s runner of the week this season.

Carnahan helped lead the Paladin women to a seventh-place overall finish at the pre-NCAA Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin, on Saturday. The junior from Cumming, Georgia, crossed the finish line in seventh place with a time of 20:14.1 in the women’s 6k course.

Also nominated for men’s runner of the week: Mark Britt (Chattanooga), Malick Gemechu (ETSU) and Luke Sumerford (UNCG).

Up next for the Paladins is the Southern Conference Championships on October 27 in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
