SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Ryan Adams and Gabbi Jennings have been named the Southern Conference men’s and women’s cross country runners of the week, respectively, for all competition between Oct. 16-22.
Adams finished 11th at the Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin, on Oct. 18. The senior from Hudson, Ohio, clocked a time of 23:50.0 in the 8K race. Adams led the Furman men to 19th in a field loaded with talented teams, with the Paladins finishing ahead of nationally ranked opponents in Syracuse and Eastern Kentucky.
Jennings posted her fourth top-10 finish in as many races at the Nuttycombe Invitational, crossing the finish line in eighth. The senior from Slidell, Louisiana, recorded a time of 20:07.7 in the 6K race. Jennings paced the Paladins to 10th as a team, finishing ahead of four teams ranked in the top 25 nationally.
The weekly award is the fourth of Jennings’ career and third this season.
Furman will compete next at the Southern Conference Cross Country Championships on Nov. 2 in Johnson City, Tennessee.
