
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Campbell’s Andrew Morgan has been named the Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for all competition from Nov. 6-12. The selection is made by the league office.
Morgan remained undefeated for the season as he picked up a pair of wins at 184 pounds in duals with No. 11 Pittsburgh and Ohio. His first win of the week proved to be the biggest as Morgan picked up an 11-8 decision over Nino Bonaccorsi of Pittsburgh, who entered the week ranked No. 6 at 184 pounds. The Fountain Valley, California, native followed that performance with another victory, this time a dominating 12-2 major decision over Mason Kroening of Ohio, helping the Camels to their first dual win of the season.
The weekly award is the second of Morgan’s career.
The Camels will return to action on Nov. 23 at the Navy Classic in Annapolis, Maryland.
Also nominated: Jonathan Millner (Appalachian State), Dalton Blankenship (Davidson), Matthew Waddell (Chattanooga) and Neal Richards (VMI).
