NORMAN, Okla. – Four Southern Conference men’s golf teams were among the 104 NCAA Division I schools to earn Golf Coaches Association of America All-Academic Team honors, the GCAA announced Wednesday. ETSU, UNCG, Samford and Wofford each posted team GPAs of 3.0 or better to earn the distinction.

ETSU, which has won the last three SoCon Men’s Golf Championship tournaments, was one of just 19 Division I programs to earn President’s Special Recognition for having a team GPA of 3.5 or better.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors, a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.

ETSU’s Geuntae Kim and Cayman Ratliff, UNCG’s Marc Johnston and Samford’s Austin Jackson were among the 15 men’s golfers to earn SoCon Commissioner’s Medals for GPAs of 3.8 or higher for the 2016-17 academic year.
