ORLANDO, Fla. – The Samford men's tennis team earned a 5-2 win over North Dakota Tuesday afternoon at Sanlando Park.
With the win, Samford improves to 8-6 on the season. North Dakota falls to 5-7 with the loss.
"We did well to bounce back in singles today after a tough doubles point," Samford head coach Rahim Esmail said. "Courts 3, 4, 5 and 6 did a good job of taking care of business and getting good starts to their second sets after having closer first sets."
In doubles, North Dakota earned wins at No. 1 and No. 2 to pick up the first point of the match. Samford's Max Rebol and Aleksandar Petrovic won the match at No. 3 doubles, defeating Jake Kuhlman and Chuck Tang, 6-1.
In singles, Samford earned wins at No. 1, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 to secure the 5-2 victory. The win is the fourth-straight victory for the Bulldogs.
Samford will return to Southern Conference play when the Bulldogs play at ETSU March 24 at 12 p.m. (CT). A full recap and results will be posted to following the completion of the match.
