WILMINGTON, N.C. - Orcun Seyrek and Jacob Wright both earned a spot in the semifinal round in their respective brackets as UNC Greensboro opened play at the UNCW Fall Invitational.

Seyrek rallied to top Sergey Belov of Winthop in Flight A. He lost the opener, 6-4, but then won the second set 6-4 and closed it out in a third-set tie-breaker, winning 7-6, 7-3 in the breaker.

Wright earned his spot in the semifinals a little easier, winning in straight sets over Winthrop's Andrea Merg, 6-2 and 6-3.

In doubles play, Wright and Yaroslav Litus picked up a dominant win in Flight B, handling Stephen Allsop amd Christopher Mack  from North Carolina Central, 8-0.

Play continues at the tournament on Saturday morning.
