STATESBORO, Ga. – The Citadel men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought match, 6-0, to Georgia Southern Sunday afternoon at the Wallis Tennis Center. The Bulldogs pushed the Eagles to the brink in every singles matchup, but didn't have a chance to compete in doubles due to rain in the area.
The Bulldogs were also supposed to play Morgan State, but the match was cancelled due to the weather.

The Bulldogs were led by Noah Nawabi at No. 3 singles and Willem van Zyl at No. 4 as both claimed a set from their opponents. Nawabi fell 6-4, 6-7, 6-2 to Diego Finkelstein, while van Zyl dropped his match 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 to Pascal Wagemaker.
Roy Hobson and Phillip Quinn also had strong performances at No. 1 and No. 5 singles. Hobson fell 6-2, 6-4 to JC Alcala and Quinn fell 6-3, 6-4 to Murphy McCullough.
Jack Pyritz took on Antonio Muniz in No. 2 singles, falling 6-1, 6-0, and Will Graham rounded out the match with a 7-6, 6-0 loss to Santiago Suarez at No. 6.
The Citadel will next travel to Clemson on Saturday, Jan. 19 for a 10 a.m. doubleheader against the Tigers. The Bulldogs will then head to Greenville, North Carolina to face James Madison and East Carolina on Monday, Jan. 21.
