MURPHEESBORO, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at Middle Tennessee today. The Lady Mocs fall to 0-2 on the spring season in dual match action.
Sophomore Shaina Singh scored the lone point for UTC. She defeated MTSU senior Anna Djananova, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (4). Her three-set match was decided by a tiebreaker that she won 7-4. It was Singh's team-high eighth singles win of the season.
"We played hard against a good team today," stated head coach Jeff Clark. "We got better from our last time out but they are tough to beat on their home court. We look forward to getting in a good week of practice and finally playing at home against Mercer next weekend."
Both Mocs' tennis teams will be in action against Mercer on Saturday, Feb. 13. Match time is set for 1:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) at the Hixson Racquet Club. Be sure to check back to GoMocs.com for complete stats and story.
