GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman's Jacqueline Bendrick has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America At-Large Third Team, it was announced Friday by the College Sports Information Directors (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Committee.

The at-large teams, the most competitive Academic All-America squads picked annually, include the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis and water polo for both men and women, as well as beach volleyball, bowling, field hockey and rowing for women, and volleyball and wrestling for men.

A graduate student from Mercer Island, Washington, Bendrick graduated magna cum laude with a 3.98 grade point average in biology in 2018 and holds a 3.90 GPA in her graduate work in education.

Bendrick earned an All-Southern Conference nod in 2019 for the second straight year after ranking third on the Paladin team and seventh in the SoCon with a 74.6 stroke average over 29 rounds. A two-time recipient of the league's Pinnacle Award, which is given annually to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA on the championship-winning team, she recorded three top-20 finishes this year. She tied for third, a career best, at the Lady Paladin Invitational and tied for eighth to lead the Paladins at the PING/ASU Invitational. Bendrick finished in a tie for 17th at the SoCon Championship.

She captured her first all-conference citation in 2018 after scoring five top-10 finishes, including a seventh-place finish at the Clemson Invitational and a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional. She was the winner of the 2018 WGCA Division I Kim Moore Spirit Award for overcoming adversity.

As a senior last season, Bendrick won the 2017-18 Elizabeth Blackwell Academic Achievement Award (awarded to the Furman University female athlete with the highest GPA), the C. Leland Rogers Biology Award (awarded to the student with the highest GPA among biology majors), and the Distinguished Research in Biology Award for her research project studying what causes cancer cells to metastasize.
