CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Chattanooga Mocs alum Agathe Sauzon ’15 made headlines this week as she qualified for the AIG Women’s British Open, one of the five majors recognized by the LPGA.
Sauzon needed five extra holes as she secured her berth in a playoff Monday afternoon. Sauzon notched a pair of wins during her collegiate career, including the 2013 Southern Conference Championship which was also won in a playoff.
Her best finish this season on the Ladies European Tour is 13th at the Actewagl Canberra Classic in January. She has two top 10 finishes in her career on the LET, ending up sixth at the 2017 Ladies Open de France and eighth in the 2017 Lalla Meryem Cup.
Sauzon has also teed it up in seven LET Access Series events in 2019. That’s come with three top 10s, tying for seventh at the Belfius Ladies Open, ninth at the Terre Blanch Ladies Open and 10th in the Montauban Ladies Open.
Sauzon is set to tee off Thursday at 3:06 a.m. (10:06 EDT). Just seven pairings ahead is another Mocs alum, Christine Wolf ’11.
Wolf is in the midst of her best professional season, currently sitting 18th in the LET Order of Merit with a fourth-place finish at the Women’s New South Wales Open in March.
