WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Through the first two rounds of the William & Mary Invitational, the UNC Greensboro women’s golf team (305-311) sits in ninth place at 40-over par. The Spartans trail Richmond by two strokes for eighth place and Longwood by four strokes for seventh place.

The third and final round will take place tomorrow morning. 

Junior Tara Bettle (71-73) is currently in second place through 36 holes, trailing individual leader Maya Walton of Princeton by just two strokes for the lead. 

Bettle was one of just two players in the tournament to end the first round under par, completing play at one-under 71. 

Sophomore Hailey Joy (78-78) is tied for 32ndplace after finishing both rounds of play at six-over-par. 

Junior Sara Rydman (78-80), meanwhile, is in a three-way tie for 35thplace after tallying a 14-over through the first rounds of play. 

Freshman Anna Grace Brock (78-81) trails Rydman’s trio by just one stroke while freshman Anna Bowman (84-80) improved by four strokes in the second round to finish the day’s play tied for 48thplace. Both made their collegiate debuts. 

In individual competition, senior Kendall Dobbins (88-76) is also tied for 48thplace after she carded a four-over 76 in the second round.
