SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's Soccer team, selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), was announced on Thursday to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Samford’s Caroline Orman and Wofford’s Hayley Younginer were both named to the District 4 first team.

First-team academic all-district honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, which will be announced in early December.

Orman started 17 games and appeared in all 19 for the Bulldogs this fall, helping Samford to its fifth straight SoCon regular-season title. The forward/midfielder scored nine points on four goals and an assist and was a first-team All-SoCon selection at midfield. The sophomore health sciences major from Atlanta, Georgia, boasts a 4.0 GPA.

Younginer, a redshirt junior forward from Irmo, South Carolina, finished the season a second-team All-SoCon selection after leading the Terriers in goals (7) and points (15) for the 2018 season. Aside from her performance on the field, Younginer holds a 3.92 GPA and will graduate this spring with a degree in English, along with a minor in finance.
