Fordham named Women's Soccer Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mercer midfielder Ally Fordham has been named the Southern Conference women’s soccer player of the week for all competition from Sept. 4-10 after scoring three goals in two victories for the Bears.  

Fordham, a freshman from El Cajon, California, scored her first collegiate goal against Georgia State to lift the Bears to a 1-0 win. With the Bears trailing 1-0 against Alabama A&M, Fordham broke through and scored the game-tying goal in the 68th minute.  After Mercer went ahead 2-1. Fordham added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute to seal the game for the Bears.

Mercer next travels to Clinton, South Carolina, to play Presbyterian on Friday at 7 p.m. ET.
