CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Monday night’s nonconference baseball game between Western Carolina and the Charlotte 49ers has been postponed due to unfavorable weather forecasts. Both teams are working on finding a potential makeup date.

The Catamounts and 49ers were scheduled to rekindle the in-state rivalry with the first series meeting between the two since 2010. However, rain showers and thunderstorms forecasted for the evening hours in the Charlotte, North Carolina, prompted officials at Charlotte to make the schedule adjustment.

Western Carolina (16-18) returns to action on Wednesday evening with the back end of a midweek nonconference home-and-home against Gardner-Webb (18-17). First pitch from John Henry Moss Stadium / Bill Masters Field is scheduled for 6 p.m.
