SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford midfielder Lucas Altman has been named the Southern Conference men’s soccer player of the week for all competition from Oct. 2-8 after scoring two goals in a pair of victories for the Terriers.

Altman, a sophomore from Johnson City, Tennessee, scored the game-tying goal in the 81st minute on Tuesday against UNCG, propelling the Terriers to overtime, where they would claim their first victory of the season. On Saturday, Altman ripped a shot from 26 yards out that put the Terriers up 1-0 on VMI as Wofford would cruise to a 6-0 win.

Altman and Wofford have a pair of road games this week, facing Furman on Tuesday before traveling to Macon, Georgia on Saturday to take on Mercer.

Also nominated: Jonny Sutherland (ETSU), Jeremy Booth (Mercer) and Thordur Johannesson (UNCG).
